RED LION- Jane Esther Herrman, 75, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Dallastown Nursing Center. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 45 First Ave. Red Lion, with her pastor, Rev. Dr. Charles W. Salisbury officiating. Viewings will be from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday July 31, 2010 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion and from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Burial will follow the service at Red Lion Cemetery. Ms. Herrman was born on October 12, 1934 in Red Lion, a daughter of the late Henry J. and Miriam E. (Stein) Herrman. Jane worked as a Physical Education Teacher for Northeastern School District followed by York Suburban School District, where she retired from in 1992. Ms. Herrman was a life member at St Paul's U.M. Church, Red Lion. Ms. Herrman won the State Volleyball Championship at York Suburban as the Head Coach. She enjoyed traveling all over the world and organized many trips. She was very active in the church choir and the Ad Council. She was also a member of the West Chester Alumni Club as well as the Penn State Alumni Club. Over the years, she taught many children how to swim. Ms. Herrman is survived by one brother, Henry P. Herrman and his wife, Kay L. of Red Lion; one sister, Ann E. Sprenkle and her husband, H. Burnell of Red Lion; three nephews, Mark H. Sprenkle and his wife Lisa of Hokessin, DE, David A. Sprenkle and his wife, Jodi of Red Lion, and Jeff P. Herrman of Red Lion; a niece, Captain Susan E. Lichtenstein of Whidbey Island Naval Air Station, WA; and two great nephews, Kyle D. and Ryan A. Sprenkle. She was preceded in death by a nephew, Henry J. Herrman Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's U.M. Church, 45 First Ave., Red Lion, PA 17356.
