Jane Ellen (Meckley) Lenhart

RED LION – Jane Ellen (Meckley) Lenhart, 60, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013 at her home. She was the wife of John S. Lenhart, Sr. to whom she was married for 38 years on April 4, 2013. A viewing will be held from 6-8:00 PM Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. The celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Springvale United Methodist Church, 265 Circle Drive, Red Lion with her pastor, The Rev. Thomas R. Osenbach officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born March 26, 1953 in York a daughter of the late Leroy G. and Martha V. (Shaffer) Meckley, she was a 1971 graduate of William Penn Senior High School and a 1973 graduate of York Vo-Tech Practical Nursing Program. Jane worked as an LPN for 20 years at Manor Care Kingston Court where she earned numerous meritorious service awards. She was an active member at Springvale U.M. Church and had served as Council Chair, lay minister, sung in the choir, worked with their Family Ministries program, and taught Sunday school. She had previously been active with Red Lion Welcome Wagon and Contact York. Jane also enjoyed crocheting and swimming. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Lenhart is survived by a son, John S. Lenhart, Jr. and wife Rachel of Windsor; two grandsons, Benjamin J. and Caleb T. Lenhart; two brothers, Robert and wife Eileen Meckley of York and Richard and wife Sandra Meckley of New Freedom; three sisters, Linda and husband Bart Weisser of York, Cynthia Deme of York, and Dr. Patricia Franko of Dillsburg; and her mother in law, Nancy Shuman of Manchester.
