Jane Elizabeth (Cummings) Adams

YORK-Jane Elizabeth (Cummings) Adams, 70, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 at York Hospital. She was the loving wife of Paul C. Adams, Sr. to whom she was married for 54 years. A celebration of life memorial service will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at York Church of Christ, 150 S. Manheim Street, York, PA 17402 with Fred Nowell officiating. Friends are invited to join the family for a light lunch and time to share memories directly following the memorial service at the church. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Adams was born on May 19, 1940 in York, a daughter of the late Harry, Sr. and Margaret Virginia (Fogel) Cummings. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens; cooking and baking; her puzzle books; watching The Price is Right, Lets Make a Deal, and Walker, Texas Ranger; and collecting angels. She also took great pleasure in spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Adams is survived by two sons; Paul C. Adams, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Olympia, WA, and Steven E. Adams of Parsons, KS; two daughters, Roxanne Engle and husband, Ronald E. of York; and Margaret L. Gladfelter and partner, Mark Morrison of Hummelstown, PA; eight grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a sister Irene Gross of Dover; several nieces and nephews; and her cat, Calico. She was preceded in death by a grandson; two brothers; and one sister.
