WILKES-BARRE-Jane E. (Berlew) Baker, 59, of North Wilkes-Barre, passed away December 25, 2013, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital after an extended illness. Born on December 1, 1954, in Wilkes-Barre, Jane was a daughter of the late Willard and Mary (Mitchell) Berlew. Jane worked for Prestige Shoes, Wilkes-Barre for many years and later worked for Pfeiffer Pharmaceuticals, Inc. For many years, Jane was a member of the Sacred Heart/ St. John’s Parish, Wilkes-Barre. Jane loved the Christmas season and spending time with her family. Jane enjoyed going to the casino for a day out or spending time planting flowers and vegetables in her garden prior to becoming ill. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by a stepson, Curtis Baker, a sister, Betty Mosley, and a brother, Willard Berlew. Surviving Jane are her loving husband of 39 years, Carl L. Baker, Jr., Wilkes-Barre, a daughter, Sharon Baker, Plains, two sons, Michael L. Baker, Wilkes-Barre, Carl L. Baker, III, Syracuse NY, 4 grandchildren, David Gower III, Kristen, Cindy and Carl IV, 4 great grandchildren, a sister, Mary Zim, Wilkes-Barre, a brother, John Berlew, Wilkes-Barre, several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 7:00PM with Major Ron Luciano, a family friend, as the celebrant. In lieu of flowers, a donations may be made to the family.
