Jan D. (Tracy) Vuono, 68, passed peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at her residence. She was the wife of Charles A. Vuono III. The couple wed on October 7, 1978 and celebrated 46 years happily married.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am on Friday, November 8, 2024 at York First Church of the Brethren, at 2710 Kingston Rd., York. A visitation will be held from 10:30-11 am prior to the service at the church. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., at 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements.
Born on November 8, 1955 in York, Jan was the daughter of the late Jacque and Minnie Lou (Cessna) Tracy. Jan was a beloved swimming instructor with her sister and mother in Minnie Lou’s backyard pool and with the Dallastown School District for over 30 years. She substituted in various offices in the Dallastown School District as well as in classrooms as a paraprofessional. She also worked as an x-ray technician and performed the first CT scan in York County.
Jan was a member of the York First Church of the Brethren. She was an avid reader and a book club member with her friends. She loved the water, the beach, and especially sunrises. Most importantly, she was devoted to her family. Her favorite thing was seeing all of the cousins and grandkids enjoying time together.
Along with her husband, Charles, Jan is survived by her daughter, Emily Vuono of York; son, Daniel Vuono and his wife, Erin Silva of Asheville, NC; four grandchildren, Jack, Hannah, Vivian, and Stella; brother, Steve Tracy and his wife, Deb of Jacobus; her identical twin sister, Jill McCracken and her husband, Tom of Dallastown; and numerous nieces and nephews and their children. She was preceded in death by her son, Bradley Vuono.
Memorial contributions may be made to Olivia’s House Grief and Loss Center.
