Jan Gary Grove

FELTON- Jan Gary Grove, 68, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at his residence. He was the companion of Pat E. Amspacker. A celebration of life tribute service will be 2 p.m. of Friday, November 12, 2010 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion, with Pastor Robert R. Jacobs officiating. A viewing will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Grove was born on November 7, 1942 in Windsor Twp., a son of Paul L. and Elsie M. (Grove) Grove. Jan worked as a foreman for Adhesive Research for 10 years until his retirement. Mr. Grove was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Felton. Mr. Grove was a 1960 graduate of Red Lion High School. After high school, Jan attended Wilmington College in Delaware, where he graduated in 1964. Jan was an avid baseball player. He was inducted to the York County Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005. He also enjoyed animals and hunting. Along with his companion Pat, Mr. Grove is survived by a daughter, Angela Boose and her husband, Kenneth of York; a step grandson, Kenneth; a step great grandson, Chance; a brother Max E. Grove and his wife, Amy of New Park; a sister, Lucy J. Heymann and her husband Ronnie of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
