FELTON - Jan Edward Kehr, 61, of Windsor Township, died Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Manor Care Health Services South in York. He was the husband of Barbara Ann (Geist) Kehr. The couple celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on August 2, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at St. John United Church of Christ, 161 North Main Street in Red Lion, with The Reverend David Tietje officiating. Refreshments and a gathering with the family will follow the services at the church. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is assisting the family with arrangements. Mr. Kehr was born in York on January 6, 1954, the son of the late James and Margaret (Smith) Kehr. He worked for Case New Holland in New Holland. Prior to that he worked 15 years for Osram Sylvania. He was a Music Educator for Central York and Red Lion School Districts. He was the Choir Director for 17 years at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in York and he and his wife were custodians for 21 years at St. John U.C.C. in Red Lion. Mr. Kehr was a member of St. John’s U.C.C. in Red Lion. He was a 1971 graduate of Red Lion High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Music Education Degree from West Chester University in 1975. He was a Judge for over 20 years of Cavalcade of Bands. He was also a very avid Orioles fan. Mr. Kehr leaves a son, Keith A. Kehr and his wife Beth of Lancaster, a granddaughter, Emma Kehr and a brother, Philip Kehr and his wife Joanne of York. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s U.C.C., Flinchbaugh Fund, 161 North Main Street, Red Lion, PA 17356.
