James T. O'Donnell

RENOVO -- O'DONNELL, James Thomas, 90, passed away at Bucktail Medical Center on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Affectionately known as (Irish or Jackie) he was born in Renovo, PA on November 9, 1926. He was a beloved Geography Teacher and Driver's Ed Instructor at Renovo HS and Bucktail HS for 33 years. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II and he was a current member of the 40&8 club 903. Irish was a member of Renovo Presbyterian Church and attended regularly. He was an avid fly fisherman. Irish loved baseball (played for the North Bend Tigers) and enjoyed gardening. He was a loving father, husband, and grandfather. Irish is survived by his sons Richard O'Donnell (Robin) and Thomas O'Donnell; grandchildren, Riley O'Donnell, Reese O'Donnell, and Regan O'Donnell; brother, Doug O'Donnell (Janice Mechling). He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie O'Donnell; father, Thomas O'Donnell; sisters, Mary Helen Gentzyel and Colleen Marie O'Donnell; wife, Margaret O'Donnell whom he was married 50 years. A memorial service will take place at Renovo Presbyterian Church on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 6:00 pm for both James and Margaret O'Donnell with family to accept friends to celebrate their lives.
