York—James T. Morton Jr., 72, died Monday, May 5, 2008 at his residence in York Township. He was the husband of Marlene J. (Krout) Morton, to whom he was married for 53 years. A celebration of life service will be held 6 p.m., Sunday, May 11, 2008 at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with the Rev. Richard Fischl, Pastor of Codorus Church of the Brethren officiating. A visitation will be held immediately following the service at the funeral chapel. In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Morton's body was willed to Humanity Gifts Registry. Mr. Morton was born October 27, 1935 in York, a son of the late James T. Morton, Sr and Virginia (Rhoderick) Morton. He was employed with C.C. Kottcamp Sheet Metal as a Sheet Metal Mechanic for 41 years and retired in 1994. A member of the Free & Accepted Masons - Red Lion Lodge, he was also a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union - Local 19, Camp Nelson Hunting Club in Clinton County, a graduate of William Penn Senior High School, Class of 1953, former caretaker of the Isaac Walton League - Chapter 67 from 1959-1964 and was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, reading about wildlife and gardening. He also served in the Naval Reserves for 10 years. In addition to his wife, Mr. Morton is also survived by three sons, Scott R. Morton of Dallastown, John L. Morton of York and Richard E. Morton of Wrightsville, two daughters, Beth A. Weymer of Strasburg and Janis E. Morton of York, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, one brother, Niles R. Morton Sr., of York and a niece and two nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 101, Harrisburg, Pa 17110 or American Lung Association of Pa, 3001 Old Gettysburg Rd, Camp Hill, Pa 17011.
