James L. Snyder, II

YORK- James L. Snyder, II died on Friday, April 4, 2025 at SpiriTrust Lutheran Home on Sprenkle Drive. He was the husband of Kathleen A. (Price) Snyder.

A celebration of life tribute service will be held at a later date. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl. Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.

Born on October 12, 1941 in York, he was a son of the late James L. and Elva (Eisensmith) Snyder. James was a meter and regulatory specialist for Columbia Gas until his retirement. Following his retirement, James worked maintenance for Typical Life Corp and Life’s New Beginning where his unique sense of humor, kindness, and skillset left a long and lasting impact.

Mr. Snyder was a member of Bethany Church in Red Lion.

Along with his wife, Kathleen, James is survived by three sons, James Snyder, III and his wife, Kathie of Palmyra, Jeffrey Stough and his wife, Mary Jean of Abbottstown and Scott Stough and his wife, Kristin of Vermont; two daughters, Michele Polito and her husband, Robert of Arlington, VA and Tammy Snyder of York; three grandchildren, Alexis, Christian and Luke; two great grandchildren, Gabriel and Noah; and his sister, Nancy Snyder and her husband, Eugene of Dallastown. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Rhodes.
