YORK - James S. Straley, 94, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Julia A. (Newland) Straley. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with The Rev. Bradley Rentzel, a U.C.C. pastor officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10:00 AM Tuesday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery with full military rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born December 28, 1915 in Dover Twp., a son of the late James M. and Katie E. (Rogers) Straley, he was a graduate of Thompson's Business College and Dale Carnegie University. Mr. Straley was the owner of Straley Farm Supply Inc. for 57 years and also owned JJJ (Julia's) Motel near Strinestown. Prior to starting his farm supply business he has worked at the former AB Farquhar and York Safe and Lock. He was a member of Dover Lions Club, Northeast Farm and Power Equipment, York Co. Meat Dealer's, William's Grove Steam Engine Assoc., South Mountain Antique Engine Assoc., Shepard Diesel Assoc., and attended Mt. Airy U.M. Church. Mr. Straley also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. Mr. Straley is survived by a daughter, Joyce. He was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
