James R. Riley

YORK – James R. Riley, 78, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at Hospice & Community Care, Mt. Joy. He was the husband of Beatrice “Bev” (Miller) Riley to whom he was married for 18 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, PA 17356 with the Chesapeake Commodores Club and W. Brian Shea, II offering prayers. York County Veterans Honor Guard will present full military honors. A viewing will be held from 1-4:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Born December 14, 1935 in Saugerties, NY a son of the late Charles and Theresa (Casey) Riley, he was a retired salesman from Allen Oil Co. Mr. Riley was an avid boater and past commander of Riverside Yacht Club and Sue Haven Yacht Club, and member of Chesapeake Commodores Club and the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a US Army veteran. In addition to his wife, Mr. Riley is survived by a son, Robert “BJ” and wife Barb Riley of Red Lion; two daughters, Gin Pentz of Red Lion and Deb and husband Tim Gray of Manchester; two stepsons, Michael and wife Janine Franey and Russell and wife Paige Franey both of Eldersburg, MD; two stepdaughters, Kathy and husband Steve Petrey of Catonsville, MD and Nancy Volz and Mark Wiley of Sparks, MD; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; 13 step grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; and a sister, Theresa Martino of Saugerties. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Robert Riley.
