James N. Lyon

TROY PA - James N. Lyon, Age 94, of 86 Everts Drive Troy, PA passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 5, 2012. James was born September 21, 1917 on Armenia Mountain, PA son of the late Harry and Mary (Ecroyd) Lyon. James was a graduate of Troy High School Class of 1935. He and the former Doris Robbins were married on January 29, 1955 and celebrated 57 years together. Jim was the owner/operator of Lyon Excavating in Troy where he worked on many local projects until his retirement. He was a member and the Chairman Emeritus of the Olde Covert Church, member of the Air Stream Camping Club. He enjoyed Hunting, camping, snowmobiling and the outdoors. Survivors include his loving wife Doris R. Lyon of Troy, a daughter Patricia (Keith) Dewey of Troy, sons, Jerry Lyon of Sylvania, PA and Bradley (Julie) Lyon of Spring Mills, PA, grandchildren, Jenna (Anthony) Close of Troy, 1st Lieutenant Curtis Dewey of Englin AFB, FL, Blake Dewey of Troy, Connor Lyon of Troy, great-grandchildren, Mason Close and Elizabeth Close. Jim was predeceased by his parents, a brother Richard Lyon in 2005 and his first wife Mary Ella Woleslagle in 1950. Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 PM Sunday, July 8, 2012 at the Vickery Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street Troy, PA. Funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday, July 9, 2012 at the funeral home with Rev. Ken Marple officiating. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Troy.
