James Mulder

DOVER - James Mulder, 77, died Friday, September 7, 2007 at his residence. He was the husband of Catherine V. [Fettro] Mulder with whom he was married for 28 years on February 8, 1979. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 10, 2007 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with his pastor, the Rev. David J. Taualofai officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 AM Monday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors presented by Lebanon County Veterans Honor Guard. Born May 29, 1930 in Garfield, NJ a son of the late Peter and Mary [Tatler] Mulder, he owned and operated Mulder Motors near East Berlin. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church; a life member of East Berlin VFW; and loved boating and his dogs and birds. Mr. Mulder was a true "handyman" who enjoyed repairing cars and rebuilding his deck. He also was a fan of western movies and John Wayne. Mr. Mulder was a US Marine Corps sergeant during the Korean War. In addition to his wife, Mr. Mulder is survived by a daughter, Regina Lau of Spring Grove; two stepdaughters, Kathleen Helfrich of Wrightsville and Susan Eckenrode of East Berlin; two sons, James Mulder, Jr. of Brandon, FL and David Mulder of Auburndale, FL; six stepsons, Harry Wagman, III, Michael Wagman, David Wagman, Anthony Wagman, and Richard Wagman all of York, and Douglas Wagman of Glendale, AZ; 23 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; a brother, Peter Mulder of Dover; and two sisters, Alice Kozell of West Patterson, NJ and Dolores Kmetz of York Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 320 N. Queen St., York, PA 17403 or to Compassionate Care Hospice, 10 C South 7th St., Akron, PA 17501.
