DUBOISTOWN - James Louis Hamilton, Jr., 72 died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at the Gatehouse surrounded by his family. Born March 27, 1937 in Montoursville, Jim was the son of the late Rhea O. (Shick) Hamilton and James L. Hamilton, Sr. Jim was a 1955 graduate of Williamsport High School. He and his wife, the former Joyce Marie Douty celebrated 52 years of marriage together on November 9, 2009. Jim was a milkman for Valley Farms and a tractor-trailer driver for H.W. Tayton and later Trenco. During his retirement he enjoyed delivering flowers for Janet's Floral. Recently he was a participant with Albright Life, where they aided him in his struggle with Picks Disease. Jim was an active member of Pine Street United Methodist Church. He especially loved spending time with his family and his pets. Surviving, in addition to his wife are his children Michael J. Hamilton of Williamsport, Debra A. Smithgall and her husband Bruce of South Williamsport and Shari L. Poust and her husband Wayne of Montoursville; two grandchildren Eric J. Smithgall and Mark A. Smithgall. He is also survived by a sister, BonnieLee Kranz and her husband Lloyd of South Burlington, Vermont, five nephews and two nieces. Two half sisters; Debbie Hamilton of Williamsport and Cindy Springman and her husband Gary of Montoursville. The funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 8, 2010 at Pine Street United Methodist Church, 441 Pine Street with Pastor Aden Wertz officiating. There will be a public viewing on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira Street from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. and at the church from 10:00 - 11:00 Monday. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Lycoming County SPCA or Pine Street United Methodist Church.
