James K. Chilcoat, Jr.

DOVER – James K. Chilcoat, Jr., 48, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Rev. Samuel E. Houser, priest at St. Patrick Catholic Church officiating. US military flag folding honors will be held immediately prior to the service by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born September 10, 1963 in Baltimore, a son of Nancy L. (Woodyard) Chilcoat of Lilburn, Georgia and the late James K. Chilcoat, Sr., he was a graduate of Parkview High School in Lilburn. James then earned his Landscape Architect degree from The University of Georgia. He had worked many years in the insurance industry. James was a talented artist and accomplished painter, who also enjoyed cooking and spending time outdoors hiking. He had served as a sergeant in the US Army from 1983-1986. In addition to his mother, Mr. Chilcoat is survived by a brother, Geoffrey C. Chilcoat of Lilburn; three sisters, Dr. Michelle Chilcoat and husband Dr. Andrew Feffer of Albany, NY, Lisa W. and husband Dr. Craig S. Pate of York, and Stephanie L. and husband Christopher Rodak of York; four nephews; one niece; an aunt, Dr. Joanne and husband Arthur J. Boyle of Laughlintown, PA; an uncle, Gordon Woodyard of Vallejo, CA; and his former wife, Klaudia Chilcoat of York. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to York County Food Bank, 254 W. Princess St., York, PA 17401.
