James J. Gaffney

James J. Gaffney, 79, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Sunday, at Riverstreet Manor. Born December 23, 1930, he was the son of the late Cyril and Helen (Bohan) Gaffney. James served in the United States Army Military Police Calvary Division during the Korean War. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Wargo) Gaffney. Surviving are his loving daughters, Joan "Susie" Shea, and Judy Sanner and husband Paul; grandchildren, Meghan , Sean, and Maura Sanner; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 7 p.m on Tuesday at Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. Officiating will be The Reverend Joseph Long. Friends may call from 6PM to 7PM. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to a Veteran's charity of the donor's choice.
