YORK- James H. Wallmuth, 77, of West Manchester Twp., died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at his residence. He was the husband of Mary E. “Beth” Wallmuth to whom he’d been married for 19 years on November 30, 2010. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 34 years, Mary L. (Brockner) Wallmuth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 950 W. Market Street in York. Father Thomas R. Hoke will be officiating at the Mass. Viewings will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery in York, with full military honors by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Wallmuth was born in Elgin, IL on December 13, 1933, the son of the late Orrin C. and Marie A. (Roche) Wallmuth. He worked as a General Manager for W.R. Meadows of PA and was a Corporate Vice President of W. R. Meadows, Inc., retiring with over 50 years of service. Mr. Wallmuth was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in York, where he was a Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of Shiloh Lions Club, where he served twice as President and held numerous other leadership positions. He was a member of the Monday Hackers Golf Group and the AARP Golf Group in York. He served honorably from 1953-1957 in the US Navy. Mr. Wallmuth leaves a son, James H. Wallmuth, Jr. and his wife Mary of York; three daughters, Ellie M. Buchwald and her husband Donald of King of Prussia; Julie A. Wallmuth of York, and Joanne L. Wallmuth of King of Prussia; two step sons, Lawrence Howard of Thomasville and Donald Howard and his wife Shelby of Vera Beach, FL; a step daughter, Nancy L. Brown and her husband Michael of Dallastown; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth, Daniel, Donald, Katy, Nichole, Danielle, Nicholas, Ashley, and Preston; and a great grandson, Taylor. He was preceded in death by a grandson, James H. Wallmuth, III. Memorial contributions may be made to James H. Wallmuth, III Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o M&T Bank, 1401 W.
