James H. Bishop

YORK- James H. Bishop, 85, of Spring Garden Township, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Spiritrust Lutheran, Village at Sprenkle Drive. He was the husband of the late Myra Jean (Bechtel) Bishop. Services will be private, with a private interment in Palm Schwenkfelder Cemetery in Palm, PA. Mr. Bishop was born in Allentown on June 6 1935, the son of the late George W. and Helen B. (Fink) Bishop. He retired after 38 years from Commonwealth of PA, Department of Education. Mr. Bishop was a loyal member of Covenant Moravian Church in York. He was a 1953 graduate of Allentown High School. In 1960 he received his Bachelor’s in Science and Education and in 1964 received his Master’s in Science and Education, both from Millersville State College. Mr. Bishop leaves a son, Thomas A. Bishop of York; a granddaughter, Brooke A. Bishop of York and her mother, Norma Bishop; a nephew, Stephen Bishop and a niece Jane Bishop.
