FELTON - James Garrett Farley, 54, of Chanceford Township, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2019 at his residence. He was the husband of Nina Marie (Garey) Farley. The couple celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary on December 21, 2018. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 11, 2020 at New Harmony Presbyterian Church, 2295 Delta Road, Brogue. The Rev. Beth Appel will be officiating. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is assisting with arrangements. Mr. Farley was born in Baltimore on July 3, 1965, the son of the late George Wesley and Janice Gertrude (Long) Farley. He worked as a John Deere road service mechanic for Finch Services in Westminster, MD. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. Jim’s vocation was as a youth football coach for 25 years, with the LTRC Blue Knights. Mr. Farley leaves his eldest son James W. Farley; Daughter Catherine M. Farley; future son in law Larry Simms; youngest sons Jabari Simms and Harlem Simms. Sandra Vinson and her husband, Jack; a brother, Richard Farley and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bradley Farley. Jim was a true believer in the importance of passing on knowledge and life skills to all children, and was dearly loved by many as a role model and coach.
