James G. Bobbitt

RED LION-James G. Bobbitt, Sr., 71, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Virginia Grace (Derstler) Bobbitt. A celebration of life tribute service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, May 9, 2008 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with The Rev. Dwayne L. Campbell officiating. A viewing will be held from 1- 2:00 PM, Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Evangelical Cemetery. Mr. Bobbitt was born July 14, 1936 in Harrisburg, a son of the late Charles G. and Marie J. (Bowman) Bobbitt. He retired from David Edward Ltd. in 2005 and was formerly employed with Cole Steel for 25 years. Mr. Bobbitt was an avid fan of John Wayne movies; liked listening to gospel music; watching the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Penn State Nittany Lions; was a huge fan of Jeff Gordan and NASCAR; and enjoyed cheating at card games. Mr. Bobbitt is survived by a son, Kenneth E. Bobbitt of Red Lion; two daughters, Penny S. Feltenberger of York, and Kelly E. Lau of Dover; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Nick, Frank and Walter; two sisters, Gertrude and Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, James and Donald, a daughter, Sarah; and two brothers, Charles and Sam.
