YORK—James F. Tanner Jr., 70, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Pappus House in York Township. He was the husband of Eileen M. (Felix) Tanner to whom he was married for 37 years. A Celebration of Life Tribute will be held from 10-11AM, Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Burial will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Born May 30, 1948 in York, he was a son of the late James F. Tanner Sr., and Dorothy L. (Fogle) Tanner. He was employed as a Database Administrator with Direct Brands for 25 years until his retirement in 2014. A United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, he was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking and biking. He liked watching Penn State football games, bowling, traveling, gardening, bird watching, squirrel hating and especially loved spending time with family. In addition to his wife, Mr. Tanner is also survived by two sons, Christopher J. Tanner and wife, Joy and Daniel L. Tanner and wife, Kristie; two daughters, Angela E. Saylor and husband, Robert III and Jennifer L. Renner and husband, Chris; seven grandchildren; two brothers and one sister. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pappus House, 253 Cherry Street, York Pa 17402.
