James E. O'Rourke

YORK – James E. O’Rourke, 87, passed away Monday, January 21, 2013 at Country Meadows at Trolley Road. He was the son of the late William J. and Katherine A. (Braubitz) O’Rourke. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville with full military honors. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Mr. O’Rourke was born on April 11, 1925 in Trevorton, PA. He retired from Caterpillar Inc., where he had worked for 30 years. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII. Mr. O’Rourke is survived by a close friend Ray Palmer of York; three sisters, Marie and husband Rodney Lucas of Marysville, PA, Ellen Stoeckert of Sarasota, FL, Catherine and husband Truman Kobel of Millersburg, PA; a brother, John and wife Jean O’Rourke of Royersford, PA; and a sister in law, Rita O’Rourke of Hartselle, AL. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William O’Rourke and Gerald O’Rourke; and a brother in law, Harry Stoeckert.
