WATSONTOWN - James E. "Jim" Kute, 80, died on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at the Kramm Nursing Center, Watsontown. Jim was born on September 27, 1929 in Williamstown and was the son of the late Mark A. and Jennie May (Reilly) Kute. He was a graduate from Williamstown High School. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard serving as a Pvt. from 1948 until 1951. Jim married the former Shirley S. (Snyder) on June 4, 1971, and who survives. Jim had worked at the American Can Company in Lemoyne for 28 years, then retired. He was a member and past president of the Lions Club, Glendale, Arizona and a lifetime member of the Williamstown American Legion. He was a catholic by faith, enjoyed golfing in his younger years and enjoyed traveling. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one step-son and his wife; Randolph F. and Joan Meinke of Marysville, three daughters; Linda J. Prayer of Halifax, Mary Rose Robinson of Middletown and Patricia D. "Pat" Giovanini of Middletown, two step-daughters; Patricia VanKirk of Trinity, NC and Donna L. Campbell and her husband William of Watsontown, fifteen grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; Brian VanKirk, William Campbell, IV and Mariah B. Campbell, thirteen great grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one step-son; Michael R. Meinke and one brother; Mark Kute. There will be a public viewing from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 2010 at The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton, with the funeral service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Williamstown.
