James E. Hess, Sr.

YORK- James E. Hess, Sr., 68, of Manchester Township, died, Saturday, January 14, 2012 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Diana A. (Tetro) Hess. The couple celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary on March 8, 2011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 231 S. Beaver Street in York. Father Samuel E. Houser will be officiating at the Mass. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery in York with a Flag Folding Ceremony provided by York County Veteran’s Honor Guard. Mr. Hess was born in York on July 1, 1943, a son of the late Thomas and Mildred (Botterbusch) Hess. He retired from BMY/United Defense in York. He was a US Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War. Along with his wife Diana, Mr. Hess leaves a son, James E. Hess, Jr. and his wife Bethany of Springettsbury Township; a daughter, Nicole M.
