James D. Watson

RED LION, PA- James D. Watson, 86, formerly of Fairmont, WV passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 at home after a lengthy illness. He was born June 28, 1929 in Kingmont, WV, the son of the late James and Ethlyn (Squires) Watson. He was preceded in death by a son, Kip Watson. Jim was a 1947 graduate of East Fairmont High School, where he was a member of the football team. He was employed by Consol Energy for 44 years before his retirement in 1991. He proudly served his country with the US Army during the Korean War and Berlin Airlift. He was an avid hunter, and a Steelers and West Virginia Mountaineer fan. He is survived by his wife Joan (Pettigrew) Watson and his daughter, Beth Sly and her husband Robert, all of Red Lion, PA Services will be private.
