James Cauler

DALLASTOWN- James Cauler, 78, died on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Hospice & Community Care of Mt. Joy. He was the husband of Julie M. (Kramlick) Cauler. The couple wed on June 16, 2007. A viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2014 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion. Services for Mr. Cauler will be private. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery with full military honors provided the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born on May 6, 1936 in Lancaster, he was a son of the late William L. and Anna E. (Steckler) Cauler, Jr. James was an electrician for PP & L, Brunner Island Plant, for 27 years. Mr. Cauler was a member of New Hope Bible Church in Seven Valleys. He also served at the York Gospel Center for over 40 years. Mr. Cauler served our country for four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. James was a sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and traveling to his cabin. He was a member of the Hawk Gunning Club, Vikings Athletic Association, Pleasureville American Legion Post #799 and the Starview Sportsman Association. He was a life member of the York Jaycees. James also served as an EMT for Manchester Ambulance for 15 years. Along with his wife, Julie, James is survived by one son, James W. Cauler (Victoria) of Elizabeth Twp.; three daughters, Joyce A. Paules (William) of York, Sandra L. McCarthy (Walter) of Red Lion and Karen L. Mentzer (Mike) of York; one step son, Mike Sterner (Gayle) of Thomasville; two stepdaughters, Sherry Trump (Roger) of Litiz and Chris Winand (Tom) of Dallastown; 13 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his late wife of 46 years, Neila (Wagner) Cauler and his late wife of 2 years, Nada (Brenneman) Cauler. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, 224 St. Charles Way, York, PA 17403 or New Hope Bible Church, 1656 Smeltzer Rd, Seven Valleys, PA 17360.
