James Andrew Wiggins

Milton- James A. "Andy" Wiggins, 85, formally of Park Ave., died Sunday, June 3, 2007 at Rockwell Retirement Center. He was the husband of the late Sarah C. "Kay" (Roberts) Wiggins. Born in Milton on July 7, 1921, a son of the late Glenn B. and Anastasia (Wohlhieter) Wiggins. He attended Milton area schools. He served in the US Army during WWII and then served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Andy was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where he was also a life member with the Knights of Columbus. He was a former Scoutmaster of Troop #601, earning the Scouters Key, the Order of the Arrow and Certificate of Appreciation from the North District. Andy belonged to the Veterans of Foreign War, Post #07715 and the American Legion, Post #71. He was also in the Milton Booster Club. He enjoyed working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Some of his favorite things to do were fishing, bowling, and golfing. Most of all, Andy enjoyed playing with the neighbor children, Billy and Callie Hutcheson. Two nephews, Christopher Clerico and his wife and children of Ashton, PA and John Mayover and his father of Bear, DE, and many friends survive Andy. Preceding him in death are his brother, Rev. Anthony Wiggins, and sisters, Julian Wiggins, Glenna Wiggins, Teresa Clerico, and Anastasia Gorman. A wake service will commence with Rev. Thomas A. Scala at 7pm, Wednesday, at the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, Inc., 125 N. Front St., Milton, a viewing will follow until 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am, Thursday, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 109 Broadway St., Milton. Graveside committal will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Andy's honor to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 109 Broadway St., Milton, PA 17847.
