James A. Mayer

YORK - James A. Mayer, 68, of York, Pennsylvania, passed away at his residence after living his dream until June 21, 2021. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at the Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. There will be an hour of visitation at 1:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home. His service will be conducted by Pastor John Oldfield at 2 o'clock. Jim graduated from York Vo-tech and earned an Associate Degree from Penn State York. He was self-employed and the owner of Mayer Hydraulic Repairs. Jim is survived by his son, Justin Mayer, his wife Tiffany, and grandchildren, Maddie and Brody, his daughter-in-law, Tammy Mayer, the widow of his son, Jamie, and grandchildren, Grace and Braydon, all of Skaneateles, NY. Others surviving members of his family are Kenneth Mayer and his wife Mary, Annette Mayer, Deborah Mayer, and Cynthia Concino and her husband John. His former wife Lori remained his close friend. In lieu of flowers, donations in James’ memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202 and the Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania, 900 S. Arlington Ave., #134a, Harrisburg, PA 17109. Unfortunately, his hope of a kidney transplant was not to be, he continued to live his dream through the excellent care from his doctors and the staff at DaVita Dialysis Center. The family would like to thank DaVita Dialysis for their help during the six years Jim was with them. It was also Jim’s wish to have bouquets of balloons present at his funeral.
