James A. Hulslander

ROCHESTER- James A. Hulslander, 60, of East Smithfield, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y. He was the loving husband of Judy L. (Hollenbeck) Hulslander. The couple married Nov. 27, 1970 and had 40 happy years together. Jim was born on Oct. 21, 1950, in Troy, Pa., son of the late Alfred W. Hulslander and Anna Mary (Van Horn) Hulslander. He was a 1968 graduate of SRU High School and attended Mansfield University. Jim was a dairy farmer on the Hulslander family farm. He was a member of the Wetona United Methodist Church and the Sunday night men\'s Bible Study group. Jim is survived by his wife, Judy; his mother, Anna Mary; his son, Michael J. (Melissa) Hulslander of Columbia Cross Roads, Pa.; his daughter, Stacy L. (William J.) Houseknecht of Columbia Cross Roads, Pa.; his grandchildren, Hannah, Hope, Hart, and Hale Houseknecht, Kylie and Kadyn Hulslander; his brothers, Rev. Allen (Joy) Hulslander of Lawrenceville, Pa., Donald (Barbara) Hulslander of Horseheads, N.Y., and Wade (Robin) Hulslander of Columbia Cross Roads, Pa.; his sister, Jo Ann (Bernie) Petry of Columbia Cross Roads, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Alfred W. Hulslander. Family and friends are welcome to gather from noon-1 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, at the Wetona United Methodist Church, Wetona Road, Columbia Cross Roads, Pa. The memorial service to honor Jim\'s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, at the church with his pastor, Rev. Richard Noggle, officiating. The Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, N.Y., has been entrusted with the arrangements.
