Mt. Wolf—Jacqueline J. (Seeger) Kemper, 76, died Friday, June 8, 2012 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Ray E. Kemper with whom she was married for 50 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 AM, Saturday, June 16, 2012 at St. John Lutheran Church, 28 N. 3rd Street, Mt. Wolf with her pastor, the Rev. Jason Northridge officiating. Burial will be in Manchester Union Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday at St. John Lutheran Church. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born August 2, 1935 in York, she was a daughter of the late Adam A. and Mildred V. (Sites) Seeger. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1953, attended York College and a graduate of the Leadership York Class of 1980. She was employed with Caterpillar for 30 years in Office Services until her retirement in 1992. Mrs. Kemper was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mt. Wolf, a lifetime member of the Mt. Wolf VFW Post 2493 – Ladies Auxiliary, member of the Caterpillar Girls Club and Women’s Golf Team, Caterpillar-York Retiree’s Club, Northeastern Jaycee-ettes, Jewish Community Center, Pace Setters of York, and various card clubs. She was an avid sports fan following her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as helping her husband who was very active in baseball for boys. She was also an avid card player, who enjoyed bingo, international and domestic travel, and spending time with family. She was extremely active in her family’s genealogy and served as an officer for local and international family reunions. Mrs. Kemper is survived by a son, Jeffrey P. Kemper and his wife, Angela of Chambersburg; three daughters, Jeanne M. Grove and her husband, William of York, Jennifer L. Kemper of Ft. Myers, FL and Jacquelyn R. Barbee and her husband, Donnie of Niceville, FL; 11 grandchildren, Dustin and Jelee Kemper, Kayla Kemper, Shon Grove, Kenna McClane and her husband, Troy Jr, Justine and Danna Hailfinger, Tessa Shoemaker, J. Dylan and Anabel Barbee and William Grove Jr.; three great grandchildren, Destynn and Peytynn McClane and Liam Grove; one sister, Esther Dunavin of York; extended international family, Manuel Deisen, Juan Carlos Penaloza, Sandy Chow Zogg, Francisco Almenar and many friends in Mexico and Germany. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew W. Grove and two sisters, Judy and Betty Jane Seeger.
