Jacqueline Chloe (Didrich) Arnold

TROY- Jacqueline Chloe (Didrich) Arnold, 78, of Mountain View entered into rest on August 21, 2011 in Mountain View. Jacqueline was born November 24, 1932 in DeKalb, Illinois to Leslie Lynn and Janice (Ferry) Didrich. While working as a Registered Nurse at the Rochester Psychiatric Center, in Rochester, NY, she met her soul mate and husband of 32 years, Matt. Jackie & Matt enjoyed the outdoor, camping & hiking in many different areas. They camped in everything from tents, to a 5th wheel trailer. Jackie discovered that she enjoyed painting, quilting and many other crafts. Through her hobbies, she uncovered a real talent for painting and quilting and took classes for both throughout their travels. One of the places Jackie & Matt had visited was Mountain View, Arkansas where they really enjoyed the scenery, music and people. In 1996 they decided to settle down there. While Matt worked during the day at the Folk Center, Jackie took interest in her painting and quilting with other woman around the community. Jackie quickly developed new friends throughout Mountain View and belonged to quilting and art guilds. Jackie’s paintings won awards and ribbons from local fairs Jackie’s quilts often told a story, such as her Alaskan Sampler, which was the story of their trip to Alaska in 1995. Though Jackie’s health eventually did not allow her to travel anymore, she enjoyed and welcomed visits from family & friends from around the country. She enjoyed going out to eat often with Matt and meeting up with old friends, and making new friends too. Jackie’s favorite place to eat was the Rainbow Café at the “big table” where lots of stories, tall tales and laughs can always be found. Jackie leaves behind her beloved husband, Matt; her brother, Charles and his wife, Sandy and their children, Drake, Karl and Ben, along with two great-nephews and one great-niece; and several dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Janet Davis. Family and friends are welcome to call from 1:00-2:00 PM on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street Troy, PA. The memorial service to honor Jackie’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 11th at the funeral home.
