Jacob R. Young

WELLSBURG, NY - Jacob R. Young, Age 82 of Bucks Creek Road, Gillett, PA passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Robert Packer Hospital. Jacob was born December 21, 1928 in Harrison Township, PA. He and the late Sibyl E. (Howland) Young were married on April 3, 1946 in Westfield, PA. Jacob lived and spent most of his life in the Westfield, PA area prior to moving to Bentley Creek, PA. He worked at Trayer Products and also at Thomas and Betts in Elmira, NY. Prior to working there he was a farmer and always enjoyed working the land. His other hobbies included his garden and spending time with his family. Survivors include his three sons, John & Kathleen Young of Corry, PA, Joel Young and Robert Young both of Bentley Creek, PA, four daughters Nancy and Gary Kenjersky of FL, Judy and Eddie Short of VA, Frances and William Cavanaugh of Gillett, PA Susan (Lewie Dunbar) Coolbough of Springfield, PA, Jacob was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife Sibyl on October 26, 2010, his infant son Jacob “Jay” Young and his two brothers Edward and Ken Young. Family and friends are invited to call from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. Jacob’s service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 7 PM with his brother-in-law Merle Howland officiating. Interment will be in Champlin Cemetery, Westfield, PA.
