WILKES-BARRE-Jack V. Swank, 79, of Wilkes-Barre, died April 21, 2008 at The Laurels, Kingston, after a lengthy illness. Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late James Wilson Swank and Helen Cora Bush Swank. He served and retired from the United States Army, serving time in Germany and Alaska and was awarded the Occupation, Humane Defense, Berlin Airlift Device and Good Conduct Medals. He worked at several dairies, including Kingston Dairy for many years. He was later employed by Kings College. He enjoyed gardening, sports and time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Lois N. Hartwigsen Swank. Surviving are his daughter, Sally Ann Walski and husband Alex, Jr., son James W. and wife, Deborah, all of Wilkes-Barre; son Phillip and wife, Michelle, Laceyville; sister Shirley Jones, Kingston; several grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.
