YORK Jack E. Mason, Jr., 73, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2010 at his residence. He was the husband of Phyllis M. (Wilson) Mason to whom he was married for 54 years on August 4, 2010. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, November 8, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with his pastor, The Rev. Cathy Boileau officiating. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM Monday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born December 4, 1936 in York County, he was a son of the late Dora (Snyder) Mason and the late Jack E. Mason, Sr. He retired from York Wallcoverings in 2001 and enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his family at their cabin in the mountains. Mr. Mason was a member of New Creation Community Church, East Berlin Fish and Game, and the Vigilant Social Club. In addition to his wife, Mr. Mason is survived by a daughter, Karen S. and husband Todd Smith of Dover; three sons, Wayne E. and wife Joy Mason of Stoverstown, Robert E. and wife Dixie Mason of West York and Jack E. Mason, III and wife Lisa Mason of West York; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and three sisters, Gloria Mason of Dover, Shirley Gerhart of Florida, and Debra Messinger of West York. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Marion Lentz and Patricia Dick.
