Red Lion — J. Robert “Bob” Shaull, 87, died after a lengthy illness, Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Manor Care Health Services—Dallastown. He was the husband of Maxine J. (Sechrist) Shaull to whom he was married for 64 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 AM, Monday, April 2, 2012 at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2335 Cramer Rd, Brogue, with his pastor, the Rev. John B. Ferra Jr., officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM, Monday, at the church. Burial will be held in St. James Lutheran Cemetery with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, is in charge of arrangements. John Robert Shaull was born July 14, 1924 in Brogue a son of the late J. Oscar and Minnie B. (Crawford) Shaull. He spent his youth on the family farm in Brogue. Bob was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart and Distinguished Unit Badge for his service in the European, African and Middle East Theaters. He was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church and member of the church choir and council and a lifetime member of the church Sunday school. He was also an avid outdoorsman who had a passion for hunting and fishing and took yearly hunting trips out west and to Canada. After his service to our country he married Maxine and eventually acquired his father-in-law’s business. He owned and operated J. Robert Shaull Trucking for over 30 years until his retirement. In addition to his wife, Bob is also survived by, one daughter, Judy Hanist and husband, Matthew of York; two sons, J. Robin Shaull and wife, Cindy of Windsor and Brian Shaull and wife, Lila of Felton; one granddaughter, Stacy Trinh of York; two step grandchildren, Tia Warner of Thomasville and Jerome Brown II of Felton; two great grandchildren, Aaron and Sarah Trinh; two step great grandchildren, Tanner and Abigail Warner; two brothers, Harold and James Shaull, both of Brogue; two sisters, Olga Eveler of Felton and Ethel Minnich of Red Lion and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Shaull and one brother, Lester “Pep” Shaull. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, C/O Milton S. Hershey College of Medicine, Penn State University Neuroscience Center, 500 University Drive, Hershey, Pa 17033.
