J. Frederick P. "Fritz" Wolf

YORK - J. Frederick P. "Fritz" Wolf, 78, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009 at his residence. He was the husband of Jeanette (Rose) Wolf to whom he was married for 59 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 19, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church, 2215 Brandywine Lane, York with The Rev. Janyce Jorgensen officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 AM Monday at the Church. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born May 3, 1931 in York a son of the late Fred P. and Marcie (Wagner) Wolf, he was a 1949 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. Mr. Wolf retired as a professional firefighter for The City of York, Department of Fire/Rescue Services after 34 years. He was a member of Retired Firefighters Local 627 IAFF, York Professional Firefighters Assoc. 627, Vigilant Social Club, Thirteenth Ward Political Club, York Rifle Range, and Viking Athletic Assoc. In addition to his wife, Mr. Wolf is survived by a daughter, Jan M. Balko of Rogers, MN; a son, Steven K. and wife Teresa Wolf of York; a son in law, Michael Longenberger of Milton, PA; five grandchildren, Matthew L. and wife Nicole Longenberger of Milton, Mason Longenberger of Wakefield, RI, Jamie and husband Jay Diez of Yorkville, IL, Megan and husband Nathan Meals of Richmond, VA, and Sean Wolf of West Chester, PA; a step great grandson; and a sister, Delores Quickel of York. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Margie Longenberger. The family requests no flowers and that memorial contributions be made to VNA Hospice Services, 218 E. Market St., York, PA 17403.
