TROY- J. David Dunham, 86, of Mount Pisgah, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of the late Wanda (Vargason) Dunham who passed away on May 16, 1995. The couple married December 5, 1946 and had 48 happy years together. Family and friends are welcome to call from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm on Friday, September 9, 2011 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street, Troy, PA. The graveside committal service to honor Dave’s life will be held at 1:45 PM on Friday September 9th at Bradford County Memorial Park in Luther’s Mills, PA with his grandson, Pastor Patrick Kelly, officiating. Military honors will be given by the Towanda American Legion Honor Guard. David was born on July 6, 1925 in New Albany, PA, son of the late Charles and Mary (Campbell) Dunham. He was a graduate of New Albany High, class of 1943, and was a Drill Sergeant for the US Marine Corps during World War II. After his service to his country, David went to work as a machinist for Remington Rand and later became a Power Plant Supervisor for Dupont before retiring in 1992. He was a member of the East Smithfield VFW Post #7378. David was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and running his coonhounds, beagles, and foxhounds. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends outdoors. David is survived by his children: Charles M. (Nancy) Dunham, Crystal A. Parks, and Kay S. (James) Kelly, all of Mount Pisgah, his grandchildren: J. Michael (Jill) Dunham, Lisa Dunham, Michael D. (Jennifer) Parks, Patrick J. (Angela) Kelly, James D. (Jessica) Kelly, and Jordan A. Kelly, his great grandchildren: Megan Dunham, Ethan Dunham, W. Lucille Parks, Alexandria Parks, and Cooper Paul Kelly, his sister Mary Jane (Ned) Peachey of North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wanda, his son Alan Dunham, his brothers: Daniel, Charles, James, and Robert Dunham, and his sister Louise Stanley. Memorial Contributions may be made in David’s memory to Guthrie Hospice 421 Tomahawk Rd Towanda, Pennsylvania 18848.
