NEW COLUMBIA - Isaiah J. “Ike” Bingaman, 97, died Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at his home. He was born in West Milton on September 10, 1918 and was the son of the late William L. and Sadie M. (Phillips) Bingaman. Isaiah served his country proudly during World War II in the United States Navy where he earned a rank of FS1c. While enlisted Isaiah served on several vessels and stations including; NCTC Peary VA, NCTC Davisville RI, CBMU 538, NCBD 1055 ESP. Santos & Adm., NCBD 1053 Marianas IS and NCBD 1053 Philippine IS. He also received four awards; Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and Philippine Liberation Ribbon and a Victory Medal On November 22, 1946, Isaiah married the late Lois A. (Prowant) Bingaman and they celebrated 58 years of marriage together until her death on October 10, 2005. He worked for A & P Tea Company then went on to work for JD Robbins Company as a heating and air conditioning technician and retired in 1984. Isaiah was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, New Columbia, the Milton American Legion Post #71, the Milton VFW Post #1661 and the Masonic Lodge, Phil Chapter for over 50 years. Isaiah is survived by two daughters; Nancy C. Bingaman and Janice C. Bingaman both of Argyle, WI, nine grandchildren and their spouses; Brenda L. and William Lynd, III, Carl T. Anderson and companion Quai Brown, Jamin D. and Elaine Anderson, Daniel I. and Jessica Anderson, Nathan J. and Nicole Anderson, Adam J. and Nicole Anderson, Paul M. and Stephani Anderson, Elisabeth G. Anderson and Sarah E. Anderson, sixteen great grandchildren; William, IV, Daniel, Isaiah, Micayla, Mickenzie, Jordan, Emiliano, Apollo, Bri, Jeremiah, Marcella, Elijah, Braden, Olivia, Kailey and Everleigh and one brother; Warren M. “Barney” Bingaman of West Chester along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Isaiah was preceded in death by two brothers; Boyd A. and William R. and three sisters; an infant sister, Elda Kisenger and Phyllis M. Wenzel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Milton VFW Post #1665, 300 Park Ave., Milton PA 17847 A public viewing will be held 6:00p.m. - 8:00p.m., Sunday, September 27, 2015 at The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton and again from 10:00a.m. – 11:00 a.m. , Monday, September 28, 2015 followed by the funeral at 11:00a.m. with Pastor Branden Mestach of Christ Wesleyan Church, Milton officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Churches Cemetery, Lewisburg with full military honors.
