Irma L. (Shuman) Young

MILTON - Irma L. (Shuman) Young, 78, died Friday, February 16, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 1, 1939 in Lewisburg and was the daughter of the late Russell and Pauline (Kirkner) Shuman. On November 2, 1958 Irma married William “Bill” Young, who survives and they celebrated 59 years of marriage together last year. Irma worked for American Home Foods for 26 years and retired in 2004 at the age of 62. She was a member of Crossroads Church of the Nazarene, Montandon and enjoyed crocheting, roller skating, baking, visiting people from her church but most of all she loved spending time with her family. In addition to her husband, Bill she is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law; Scott Young of White Deer and Susan Henderson-Young of Lewisburg and Gary Young of Milton, 6 grandchildren; Austin Young, Katelyn Young, Nathan Young all of Milton, Tiffany and her husband Brock Thorp of New Columbia, Noah Young of Georgia and Ashley Miller of Lewisburg, two great grandchildren; Kylie and Ryan Thorp, two brothers and sisters-in-law; Charlie and Lucile “Lou” Shuman of Milton and Frank and Martha Shuman of Lewisburg and two sisters and one brother-in-law; Ann and Stanley “Stan” Hagenbuch of Washingtonville and Mary Sones of Muncy. In addition to her parents, Irma was preceded in death by two brothers; Raymond and James Shuman. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Christ Wesleyan Church, 363 Stamm Road, Milton, PA 17847. A public viewing will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018 in the Davis Chapel at Christ Wesleyan Church, 363 Stamm Road, Milton followed by the funeral at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Branden Mestach officiating. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Milton. Arrangements are being handled by Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.
