Iris V Hivner

YORK- Iris V. (Abel) Gibson Hivner, 81, died Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at Manor Care Health South. She was the wife of the late Donald W. Gibson and the late Donald Hivner. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 12, 2008 at Grace United Methodist Church, 11 N. Main St., Windsor, with her pastor, The Rev. Dr. Glenn M. Dietrich officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30- 11:00 AM Friday at the Church. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born January 17, 1927 in East Prospect, a daughter of the late Van C. and Verna (Hannigan) Abel, she retired from Dallastown Area School District in 1989 after 30 years of service. Mrs. Hivner was a member of Grace U.M. Church and was involved in various church committees and its choir. Mrs. Hivner is survived by a daughter, Brenda R. and husband Steve Keller of Dallastown; two grandsons, Brian S. and wife Ali Keller of Mt. Wolf and Matthew S. and wife Tracey Keller of Mt. Joy; two great grandchildren, Nicholas and Hannah Keller; several nephews; a niece; and a companion Vernon Oberdorff of Windsor. She was preceded in death by a brother, Van B. Abel.
