Irene S. (Shindel) Linebaugh

Dallastown Irene S. (Shindel) Linebaugh, 85, passed away Sunday April 1, 2007 at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the loving wife of Amos E. Linebaugh, who passed away May 15, 1977. Viewing will be 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road in York. Funeral service will immediately follow at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Kathy Swords officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Abbottstown. Irene was born August 28, 1921 in York. She was the daughter of the late Edwin E. and Carrie (Kinard) Shindel. Irene served as an accounting clerk for Borg-Warner for many years until her retirement. She was a member of Shiloh Evangelical Lutheran Church and AARP. She also enjoyed bowling. Irene leaves two daughters; Shirley A. Rinehart and husband Robert of Dover, and Jeanette E. Owen and husband Jeffery of York, four grandchildren; Sandra J. Jones, Robert Rinehart, Jr., Amy M. O'Brien, and Neil P. Owen, four great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, two sisters; Ruth Rhoades, and Betty Thomas. She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
