Irene D. (Ryder) Wentz

YORK- Irene D. (Ryder) Wentz, 78, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Memorial Hospital. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, November 29, 2013 at Beaver Urich Funeral Home, 305 West Front Street, Lewisberry, with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating the service. A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service. Burial will be in Emmanuel Cemetery. Born March 15, 1935 in York, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Nettie (Young) Ryder. Irene worked at Memorial Hospital in central supply as a nurse’s aid for 38 years until her retirement in January of 1997. Irene loved watching nature, especially deer and birds. She also enjoyed reading and watching NASCAR. Ms. Wentz is survived by a son, John Wentz of Wellsville. In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by a brother, John Ryder.
