Irene A. (Myers) Smith

YORK- Irene A. (Myers) Smith, 98, died Friday, May, 28, 2010 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Byron Henry Smith. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with visitation from 1-2 p.m. The Reverend Dr. Bradley A. Brown will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Smith was born in York on September 21, 1911, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Mabel F. (Kessler) Myers. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in York and Reliance Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Smith leaves four sons, Richard E. Smith, John H. "Champ" Smith, Byron H. Smith, and Charles T. Smith all of York; two daughters, Doris E. Roelke and Charmaine V. Adams, both of York; 17 grandchildren, five step grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren, and a sister, Ruth DeHoff of Iowa. She was preceded in death by a daughter, C. Louise Raffensberger.
