Iola May (Haupt) Cline

WILLIAMAMSPORT - Iola May (Haupt) Cline, age 91, of Montoursville, passed away at Williamsport Hospital on Thursday, July 28, 2011. She was born in Farwell, Pa. on Nov. 5, 1919, a daughter of the late Marcellus L. and Flora May (Coover) Haupt. Iola married her second husband, Winfield Cline, in 1965 in Renovo, and she says that they were the best eight years of her life. They traveled everywhere together and appreciated the humor in every-day life. He preceded her in death in 1972. Her faith played a large part in her life as well. She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Williamsport since 1978, was president of the Elmcroft Garden Club, and loved gardening, crocheting, knitting, cross-stitch and crewel work. Iola was a dedicated homemaker and also provided child care for a few select families. Iola is survived by her brother: William Haupt of Roanoke, Va., sisters: Annabelle McAfee of Keedysville, Md. and Nancy Duncan of Shelby, Ohio. She was preceded by her brothers: Clyde Haupt, Francis Haupt and Norman Haupt and her sister Gertrude Morton. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive Iola. Memorial services for Iola will be held at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 911 W. Third St. Williamsport, Pa. 17701 on August 19th, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Joel Long officiating. Friends will be received at the Church one hour prior to the service. Private family interment will be held at the family’s convenience. Memorials are requested to the Tabernacle Baptist Church.
