Ida J. 'Sis' (Smith) Young

YORK – Ida J. (Smith) Young, 83, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012. She was a resident of The Brunswick at Longstown. She was the wife of the late Jack E. Young, Sr. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Mt. Pisgah Trinity United Methodist Church, 5615 Mt. Pisgah Road, York with the Rev. Richard L. Bowers officiating. Private burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born February 24, 1929 in York a daughter of the late William H. and Pauline C. (Owens) Smith, she enjoyed playing Bingo and was a member of the Red Hat Society at The Brunswick at Longstown. Mrs. Young is survived by three daughters, Christine and husband Melvin Curley of York, Stephanie Lena of Seven Valleys, and Deborah Hess of Hellam; four sons, Samuel Smith and wife Jada, Jack E. Young, Jr. and wife Tina, Randy Young, Sr. and wife Lisa, and David Young Sr. and wife Susan all of York; 21 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; a sister, Josephine Dick and husband Ed of York; and a son in law, Mark Snyder of Wrightsville. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Snyder; and four brothers, Donald, Rodney, Robert, and Harry Smith.
