Ida Betty (Dickmyer) Adams

York—Ida "Betty" (Dickmyer) Adams, 96, formerly of Haines Acres, died Thursday, July 26, 2007 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Edward R. Adams. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Advent Lutheran Church, 1775 E. Market St., York with her pastors, Rev. David and Brenda Ritterpusch officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m., Tuesday, at the church. Burial will be held in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Everhart-Jackson-Heffner Funeral Home, Inc, 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Adams was born January 12, 1911 in Baltimore County, MD, the oldest of 11 children, she was a daughter of the late Harry E. and Esta (Braun) Dickmyer. She was a member of Advent Lutheran Church, where she participated in Lutheran Church Women, Advent Leisure Group and the church's Sunday school classes. For many years she was also a member of YWCA and YWCA Women's Club of which she was a past president. Formerly she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wrightsville, where she taught Sunday School for 20 years and was past president of their Lutheran Church Women group. Mrs. Adams is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son William Adams and 10 brothers and sisters.
