SALLADASBURG - Hugh Jackson Bubb, Jr., 86 formerly of 360 Sydney Street, Montoursville, died Friday, October 04, 2013 at The Gatehouse, Williamsport. He was born on February 08, 1927 in Williamsport and was the son of the late Hugh J. and Ann (Phillips) Bubb, Sr. Hugh was a graduate of Williamsport High School Class of 1945. He went on to attend Lafayette College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in arts in 1949 then went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania Law School. After college he went on and attended various real estate school. He served in the United States Merchant Marines during World War II as a Radio Officer on a general cargo ship, an ammunition carrier and a troop ship. He was awarded several medals including; Atlantic War Zone medal, Mediterranean and Middle East War Zone medal, Pacific War Zone medal and a Victory medal. Hugh married the former Olive Frances (Grammer) on July 27, 1957 and they celebrated 45 years of marriage together until her death on November 29, 2002. He worked for First National Bank of Williamsport and Aetna Life Company then worked as an independent Contractor Real Estate Salesman and Associate Broker with several local Real Estate Agencies. He was a Real Estate Instructor for Penn State University and most recently he worked as an owner, broker, certified Real Estate Appraiser of Hugh J. Bubb Real Estate Appraisal Service. Hugh was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Williamsport, Eugene Grafius Post 104 American Legion, Keyston Mariners, Chapter of American Merchant Marine Veterans, National Association of Uniformed Services and the Wheel Inn. He was a former member of Ross Club, Williamsport Country Club, Oaks Club and Junior Chamber of Commerce as a chairman of the local soapbox derby. He enjoyed electronic, computer software, digital cameras and CB base radios. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Margaret E. and Kevin L. Little of Salladasburg and Sarah H. and John F. Martucci of Birdsboro, six grandchildren; Christopher J. Little, Matthew A. Little, John C. Martucci, Rachel H. Little, Colin H. Martucci and Elyse N. Martucci, one sister and brother-in-law; Sarah H. and John L. Bruch of Muncy, one brother-in-law; Alfred W. Berthold of Williamsport along with nieces and nephews. A public viewing will be held at 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 08, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church, Williamsport followed by a funeral at 11:30 a.m. with the Reverend Awun Sam Hwang officiating. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport. Memorial contributions can be made to; The First Presbyterian Church, 102 E. Third Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
