Howard O. Bake" Taylor

York- Howard O. "Bake" Taylor, 84, died Monday, January 1, 2007 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late M. Bernice (Stein) Taylor. A celebration of life service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery with full military honors by York County Veteran's Honor Guard. Mr. Taylor was born in Dallastown on October 28, 1922, a son of the late John and Dora (Leber) Taylor. He retired as a self employed Construction Contractor; prior to that he worked for the former Fox's Baking Company in York. He was a member of Advent Lutheran Church in York and served in the US Army during WWII. Mr. Taylor leaves a daughter-in-law, Linda Taylor Schaffer of Dover; a brother, Charles Taylor of Gordonville; two sisters: Louise Stein of York and Lillian Armold of Dallastown and nieces and nephews. A son, David B. Taylor had preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Advent Lutheran Church, 1775 E. Market Street, York, PA 17402.
