TROY- Howard G. Baldwin, 71, of Troy, PA, went to be with his Lord on Monday, June 3, 2013 from his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Krise) Baldwin. The couple married December 7, 1963 and had 49 happy years together. Family and friends are welcome to call from 1:00-2:00 pm on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Leona United Methodist Church, North of Route 6 on the Leona Road in East Troy, PA. The memorial service to honor Howard’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 8th at the church with Pastor Jody Kenyon officiating. The Troy Veterans Honor Guard will be give military honors at the conclusion of the service. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street Troy, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements. Howard was born on August 7, 1941 in Troy, PA, son of the late Donald and Irene (Baker) Baldwin. He was a graduate Troy Area High School, Class of 1959, and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Before and a short time after his time in the army, Howard worked for McClure Motors in Troy. After he opened Baldwin’s Collision Repair in Sylvania, then moving it to Rt. 6 in East Troy. Howard took college classes after work in the evenings for 10 years so he could be an instructor of auto body repair at the Northern Tier Career Center in Towanda, PA, for 21 years until he retired in 2003. He attended Leona United Methodist Church, enjoyed fishing on Seneca and Cayuga Lakes, and was an avid turkey hunter. Howard’s true passion was caring for his family and teaching. Howard is survived by his wife Barbara, his son David Baldwin of East Troy and David’s children’s mother Shelly Baldwin, his daughter Tina (Skip) Ostrander of Mountain Lake, his grandchildren: Jay Baldwin, Miranda Baldwin, Alleshia Ostrander, and Brandon Ostrander, his brother Al (Beth) Baldwin of West Burlington Twp., and his sisters: Charlene (Donald) Wheeler of Lebanon, PA, and Dawn (Meredith) May of Colorado Spring, CO, along with many special nieces, nephews, and friends. His parents and his sister Sylvia Cobleigh precede Howard in death. Contributions may be made in Howard’s memory to the Leona United Methodist Church c/o Denise Fuesner 900 Porter Rd. Troy, Pa 16947.
